Equipping young people to shape their own future
We are committed to providing access to technology and quality education for young people in underserved communities. From foundational high-school learning to internships and mentorships, our youth development programs give them the chance to acquire technical skills and knowledge that will help them succeed in the ICT industry.
These programs are core to our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) ambition to build a sustainable business and an equitable society. They support our employment equity goals and help to address the shortage of ICT skills in South Africa.
Bursary Program
Our commitment in numbers
We are committed to supporting diversity and inclusion in the technology industry by investing in the education of young people who would not otherwise have access to funding for their tertiary studies.
Launched in 2007, our bursary program has benefitted over 162 learners wishing to pursue ICT-related careers.
The Saturday School has become the main feeder of the bursary program. We provide fully funded bursaries to qualifying Saturday School learners pursuing an ICT-relevant qualification at accredited universities. The bursary covers tuition, accommodation, travel, food, textbooks, and a monthly stipend. For 2024, we have a total of 59 active Saturday School bursars.
Our other beneficiaries include our employees' children and learners with disabilities through partnerships with Belgium Campus ITversity and Employ & Empower Deaf (eDEAF). These partnerships highlight our commitment to fostering inclusive education and providing opportunities for learners with disabilities.
Our long-term vision
By providing bursaries, we aim to empower the next generation of leaders and innovators. Our program not only supports individual students but also contributes to the broader goal of reducing educational inequality and fostering community development.
